Just checking in to let you know that we're still here and hope your all keeping well, also that we're waiting to hear when it'll be safe to resume Skittles.
Take care and hopefully see you all soon.
It is with great sadness that Trowbridge Skittles League has learned of the passing of Whistleblowers captain Royston Hillman, a long time stalwart of the league, he will be missed by all in the league and those who knew him, our heartfelt condolences go out to Dean, Nicky, Lorraine and the rest of his family and friends.
RIP Dear friend.
Following on from my previous post I thought I'd let you know the outcome.
Myself and Steve Ivin ended up going to a pub in Ashcott just outside Street, to film a small piece to be aired in an episode of "Antiques Road Trip" The premise of the piece is about the history of Skittles and the differences in various regions. The filming concentrated on the representative from the Somerset skittles league, talking about the history and introducing the antiques expert (Timothy Medhurst) to the game of skittles, with our little contribution of detailing the main differences between our leagues being filmed after hanging around for 4 hours The filming ended with a quick game between us and the Somerset skittler and the antique expert, which I'm glad to say we won. The show will be aired next year, towards the end of summer/autumn, I will let you know as soon as I hear.
Hope you're all well.
Sorry its been some time since our last communication, but as you can appreciate we're guided by the ongoing situation.
We had intended to hold a meeting in October to discuss the finish of the season, but due to the latest developments concerning the rule of 6 and now the 10pm pub curfew, we have decided to postpone this, we will let you know the new date for the meeting when we are able, as it is, it doesn't look like we'll be able to start until Jan 2021 at the earliest, but not before a meeting is held so captains or a representative of each team can attend and give their say on the matter.
Thank you for your understanding in these strange times and hope to see you soon. Sergio.
